So....Who Is Emma Serjeant?
Emma is a graduate of Australia's National Institute of Circus
Arts (NICA) where she trained under internationally renowned master of hand
balancing, Lu Guang Rong. Emma 's additional skills include
Swinging Trapeze, Static Trapeze, Adagio, and Tumbling.
Born in England and spending much of her young life in Brisbane,
Emma's early background is gymnastics, a field in which she has represented
both her State(Qld) and Country(UK). Starting her professional career at fourteen
with Brisbane's high energy acrobatic troupe The Scream Team,
Emma has been performing circus and acrobatics ever since. In March 2007 Emma
and fellow NICA graduate Jacqui Levy were the first Australians to be invited
to represent their university and country at the annual European circus school
gathering, La Piste Aux Espoirs Festival, in Belgium.
Emma’s performance history covers a wide variety of contexts including
NBL half-time entertainment, shopping centres, Gold Coast Indy Carnival, corporate
launches, private functions, night clubs, festivals, The Commonwealth Games
Opening Ceremony, the CWG international media launch and even a film clip for
Silver Chair. This breadth of experience coupled with a highly respectable skill
base give Emma the capacity to effectively adapt to any performance situation.
